The days of modeling being only about skinny tall women are long gone. Below are 10 plus-size lingerie models that have bashed stereotypes and redefined the global myopic vision of beauty by showing us that you really do not have to be a size zero to be sexy.

Sports Illustrated

Ashley is a 30 year old model and activist. She began her modeling career in 2001 and has since then broken into various facets of the business. She was the first plus-size woman to appear in a Sports Illustrated Annual Swimsuit Issue, she designed her own lingerie line in 2013 and wrote a book in 2017.


Fluvia Lacerda

Fluvia who is Brazilian was a nanny when she was discovered in a train and has since then appeared in Vogue Italia, Bust and Plus Model Magazine. She became the first ever plus-size cover star on Playboy Brazil in 2016.

 Quinn Miles

Quinn is a long time plus size model from Los Angeles signed with Wilhelmina and Gord Models. Her career had involved modeling for brands such as Macy’s and Old Navy. She is also natural hair advocate and blogger.

Jennie Runk

Jennie brought her sexy out by baring it all in Glamour November 2009 edition and hasn’t returned it since then. She then went ahead to become the first plus-size model to be featured in H&M’s summer beach wear campaign in 2013.


Candice Huffman

Candice is a 33 year old model with IMG models that started out by being a teenage beauty queen. She became the first plus-size woman to be featured in the Pirelli calendar in 2015 and has worked with Vogue Italia, Glamour, Vogue, Harpars Bazaar and W and CR Fashion Book.


Denise Bidot

Denise started out wanting to be a movie star but was told she only had a “best friend body type “. She then became a makeup artiste and was discovered while working on a client. She has since then modeled for Macy’s, Forever 21 Plus, Kohls and Target Plus.


Victoria Lee

Victoria was one of the six models who starred in Lane Bryants #PlusisEqual campaign featured in Vogue September 2015 edition.  When asked about her fitness routine Victoria says she dances secretly in her room.

Lynn was born in Washington and started modeling in 2000. She admits to being bullied as a teenager because of her weight. Lynn has appeared in magazines such as Vogue, Time Magazine and Glamour. She was also the cover girl for Elle with the tagline “The body” which implied that hers’ is the body to aspire to.


Sabina Karlsson

Sabina left straight size model in 2010 because of the pressure on her to lose weight. She returned as a size 16 plus size model (If this isn’t bringing sexy back we don’t know what is) and has modeled for Levi’s and H&M.


Justine Legault

Justine also starred in the #Plusisequal campaign. She then made her mark in the industry with her Elle Quebec May 2013 edition cover which was heartily loved.
